Daily Outfit - Kate - 2/16/11

HOLY CRAP!!!! IS THAT...DAYLIGHT?!?!?!

IT IS! IT IS!

(It's also the dry, stalk-y dredges of last year's garden. Sorry. I'm a lazy-ass and a failure as a human being, clearly.)

I love this skirt - this photo really doesn't do it justice, but I just have to say - I'm almost ashamed that I let it languish, unworn, in my closet for so long. I'm sorry, skirt. Forgive me?

(PS>I love how you can see my little green Mazda, Ahura, hanging out down on the street. High, Ahura! Sorry I only drive you once every 3 weeks or so!)

Daily Outfit - Kate - 2/15/11

Guess what? I've actually come up with a GOOD excuse to not do laundry.

I call it - "outfit creativity"!

This shirt almost never gets worn, unless all my other clothes are either dirty and/or damp and hanging on drying racks. And then I pull this from my closet, and think about its lovely little print and how I never wear it and how I really should. And then I wear it.

This happens a few times a year. Which I guess is enough reason for me to keep the shirt around, eh? :-)

Shirt: thrifted, originally GAP
Tank: Old Navy
Skirt: GAP
Boots: LLBean
Tights: Target

Daily Outfit - Kate - 1/24/11

GUESS WHAT?!?!

I just finished this sweater!

GUESS WHAT ELSE?

That's a crappy picture! So here's a better one - of an almost-identical outfit - from Sunday!

I <3 my new sweater. I <3 that I made it.

This outfit was the perfect cozy winter getup. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to get daylight pics, because my awesome Scarfshop scarf matched the teal in my sweater *perfectly*. And I know I don't usually go for matchy-matchy, but I think there are worse things in life than matching your scarf to your sweater, right? The corduroy skirt and quintessential LLBean boots just make everything wonderful.

dark purple + teal + grey + cream = my new favorite. *Really* wish I had better pics so it could be your new favorite too.

Turtleneck: Target
Scarf: Scarfshop

Daily Outfit - Kate - 1/10/11

I had an extra bounce in my step yesterday, because not only was I wearing my new LLBean dress...

But I was ALSO wearing new handknitted knee socks!

Here's a blurry, yellow, non-yesterday picture of 'em:

I LOVED this outfit! So happy and perfect and LLBean-y and handknit-y and Mom's-jewelry-y. What's not to love?

Daily Outfit - Kate - 11/16/10

We went to THE CONCERT on Tuesday night! (It was ossum. I'm going to blog about it on KateOhKatie later.)

So I wore my most rockstar outfit.

Sad that my most rockstar outfit involves tweed, a turtleneck, and handknits - BUT THAT'S HOW I ROLL, YO.

Of course, the Fluevogs totally make up for any other want of rockstar-ed-ness. Yes they do.

(Side note - Wozzie like to lick the floor. Wozzie no smart.)

Skirt: GAP outlet
Turtleneck: Target
Shawl: meee!
Boots: FLUEVOG.
Earrings: mum!

Daily Outfit - Kate - 3/30/10

I really liked this outfit on, but as usual I was less than thrilled with the photographic evidence.

That dress came out of the wash sorta funny; since it's a bit big all over I may pop it in the dryer next time (I usually hang-dry all my clothes) and see if that helps.

All day long I felt like a very stylish 1930's farmwife. In a good way. The open, relaxed cardi, the simple dress, the classic and comfortable shoes. Except the jewelry. I don't think many 1930's farmwives had this necklace:

So I give this outfit a 9 for in-person appearance and a 4 for photographic. ::sigh::

(I think I'm going to try for more simple, comfortable, wearable styles. I feel like a lot of my outfits sometimes are better in concept than in execution; I'm hoping to remedy that this spring :-))

Dress: thrifted, BCBG
Cardigan: handknitted by meee! Whisper Cardigan, by Hannah Fettig (available in spring 2009 IK)

Daily Outfit - Kate and Jeff - 3/2/10

I'm extra excited about today's post, because I convinced Jeff to make an appearance here on the blog. He was dressed up for an oral argument today (he's a law student) and looked SO FREAKING CUTE that I figured y'all might wanna see his yummyness :-)

Couldn't you just eat him up?

Cutest law student I know :-)

::mwah::

My turn!

I continue to <3 this trench. I find it intriguing.

You know what else is intriguing?

HA.

(not quite the same effect when the flasher is clothed, is it?)

Something about about this light has the effect of creating bumps and lumps where there are none. I LOVE this skirt (which isn't actually filled with weird lines, as it appears above) I thrifted a couple months back and it's super flattering on. It's a nice heavy jersey with enough fullness to really balance a more fitted top. Oh and the blue-on-blue layering? So much fun. I've gotta try same-color layering again!

This is also the blog- and life-debut of my scarf! I just finished knitting and blocking it the other day :-) I set it out this morning and planned the rest of the outfit around it. You can probably tell.

Tee: GAP Outlet
Sweater: GAP, winter 2009
Skirt: thrifted
Tights: Target
Boots: Born, fall 2009
Earrings: Mummy
Scarf: handknitted by me!
