Daily Outfit - Jen - 02/26/10

I cannot articulate how freaking happy I am that it is Friday. HAPPY THAT IT IS FRIDAY.

I just realized as I uploaded these photos, that I'd left my jeans rolled up. I did not actually go to work like that. There are few things more annoying than catching your jeans on your foot with each step. Around 4 PM, I was tired of my jeans dragging on the floor, so I rolled them up. I'm kind of loving it. Happy accident. Yay!

Cardigan: H&M
Top: Nordstrom (Rack?)
Necklace: Gift
Jeans: Nordstrom Rack
Flats: Steve Madden via DSW

This is my sweet, adorable, wonderful friend, Thao. We're hanging out tonight, and she showed up in this cutie outfit (as she always does). The good sport that she is, she allowed me to play paparazzo. I wish I owned her wardrobe. She wears blazers like nobody's business. And her shoe collection. OH MY GOD. I am going to make her share it with you all in the near future, because it is delicious.

Did you drool? I bet you did.

February Fashion Objectives

Like everyone else, I enjoy being comfortable - hence the Uggs, jeans, and cardigans. But I'm so predictable! I'm in a rut! Help!

I've decided that just because I can wear tennis shoes and jeans to work everyday doesn't mean that I should. After all, where is the fun in that? In an effort to expand my fashion repertoire, I've decided to set goals.

1. At least once a week, I must wear something other than jeans.
2. NO wearing of Uggs to work in February.
3. Accessorize my outfit at least once a week.
4. Experiment outside of my comfort zone - tights, skirts, dresses, thrifting!
5. Buy a pair of vegan shoes.

Wish me luck! Hold me accountable! Have an amazing week!

Daily Outfit - Kate - 1/27/10

Guess who I was (very indirectly) inspired by for today's outfit? Hint.

Not even remotely resembling any of Mrs. Parker's actual outfits, but I think it's close in spirit - the straight, simple wrap skirt, the cardigan-over-a-shirt-that-looks-nothing-like-the-cardigan, the rounded collar and vintage print on the pink shirt, the prim shoes.

Look! I even have the bemused expression!

(though admittedly mine is more "ornery", less "befuddled".)

This is one of my favorite detail photos ever, even though you can see I'm covered in cat hair:

All I'm missing is an embroidered hanky up my sweater sleeve.

Cardigan: GAP, winter 2009/2010
Skirt: Thrifted, originally Old Navy 2002

Tights: Target
Belt: Target
Shoes: Naturalizer, winter 2009/2010
Necklace: Gift from Jeff for our first (?) dating anniversary (?)
Earrings: Mumsie dearest
