Today, I felt like I was channeling Miami Vice. I don't even mean that in a bad way! When I pulled my vertically-striped blazer and horizontally-striped top out of my closet, I knew it could be nothing short of glorious.

We've had some work done to our backyard. No more flowerbed, or more accurately, no more dirtbed. Now it's just dirt (not in bed form) and a work in progress, much like my wardrobe.

I'd totally planned to wear a skirt and heels today, but to what I am sure is no one's surprise - jeans again! You can't take me out of them, people.

I just booked tickets to Florida, so it's time to start slowly exposing my skin to the sun again. When I walked out into the sun this morning, my legs actually shrieked and ran away with themselves. That was unfortunate, but luckily I have my back-up wooden stump legs that I can put on for outfit pictures.

I asked for season tickets to the ballet for the 2010-11 season, and because I'm loved (and persistent), I got 'em. I'm all about PDA, but with Valentine's Day upon us, there was an unusually high turnout of LOVERS at the ballet last night. You know what I am talking about. LOVERS are those people with tongues in throat, holding one another for prolonged periods of time, staring deeply into each other's eyes... in front of everybody. There were a couple of LOVERS sitting right in front of us, and we totally got 2 shows for the price of 1 last night.

Missed the pretty lighting this morning, because I am a SLEEPYHEAD. Also, Jarod is a sleepyhead.

It's a lot cooler now than it has been in the last - oh, I don't know - MILLION YEARS in Austin, but not quite cool enough to drive comfortably this afternoon. The boots and blazer felt a little warm on their own, and then my car A/C died. In the words of my 3 yr. old nephew, I was sad guy.

But as you can see, I was also cute guy, so today wasn't a total loss.

Lately, I feel happy about my outfits more often than not. Does that mean my fashion sense is evolving?? Or, more accurately, coming into existence?

My legs were massacred by mosquitos while having my outfit pictures taken, so I decided to change into jeans for my friend's birthday dinner. And since I decided to change into jeans, I had to lose the blazer, because this is Texas, and Texas is HOT.

I walked all the way to my front door this morning with my peep-toe black heels in tow. Then, I started imagining a bunch of scenarios in which I trip and re-break my foot. I panicked, put the heels down, and put these flats on. Meh. Safety first?

I felt sooooo good in my clothes, today. SO GOOD. In my book, that makes this outfit wonderful. The blazer actually turned out to be insanely comfortable, and with the rolled-up sleeves I didn't feel uncomfortably warm. Man, I really felt good in this.

Can you tell that I was struggling this morning? Is it the obviously not-brushed-beforehand ponytail that gave me away? Well, dang. I thought adding my new blazer would make up for it. Looking at the photos, I see that the blazer did not help my situation.

I can promise you that the blazer IS flattering, and that the rolled up sleeves did NOT look as ridiculous in person. I just... wasn't ready for the pictures? Jarod is still adjusting to the whole manual mode on our new camera? I have a broken foot? GIVE ME A BREAK. Not literally. I need the other foot.
