Daily Outfit - Kate - 11/4/10

I think this may become my uniform for autumn 2010: straight skirt, cardi, tee, scarf, Fluevogs.

(I'll give you one guess what I'm wearing today, too)

Have I ever mentioned how much I love this scarf? That henna color matches EVERYTHING. It's so wonderfully drapy and relaxed and messy and casual and cozy. It doesn't get much better than that, does it? :-)

Skirt: GAP
Tee: GAP
Cardi: Target
Scarf: Plowsharing Crafts (on the Loop)
Boots: Fluevog

Daily Outfit - Jen - 11/03/10

I LOVED this outfit in person, but taking one's own photos is freaking challenging. And now I hate this outfit.

Well, no, I don't hate it. But man, I don't love it anymore.

Sweater: Old Navy
Skirt: Target
Tights: Eh?
Boots: Aldo

I tried to fix this picture.

I failed. It's green now, instead of yellow. This is not much of an improvement, merely a difference.

I think the best way to not have sucky photos is to not *take* sucky photos.

And how do I avoid taking sucky photos?

DON'T TAKE THEM AT 8:00PM. Duh. (Or, actually take my fancy camera off no-flash-auto once in a while)

Also, remember this outfit - because later, we shall be playing a little game called "what could have been". Brace yourselves.

Tee: Old Navy
Scarf: somewhere in Chicago
Skirt: thrifted
Tights: American Eagle, via Marshall's
Shoes: Naturalizer (a lady complimented me on them when I went to vote last night :-))
Earrings: mum

Daily Outfit - Jen - 11/02/10

I have to apologize for the poor pictures. I got my wish for cooler weather (I was in a sweater earlier!), but it also decided to rain today which was awesome. Not. It was not awesome.

I voted today! No one saw my cute outfit, though. That's what happens when no one in your district votes. Plus side is that I didn't wait in line. See? There's good and bad in every situation!

Tunic: H&M
Belt: J. Crew Outlet
Tights: Aritzia

Daily Outfit - Jen - 11/01/10

Bad hair day. Good color combo.

My husband IM'ed me at work today. Actual transcript below.

Husband: gonna meet Oscar and his coworker for dinner around 7:15 prolly
Husband: you wanna join me?
Me: where
Husband: buffalo wild wings
Me: :|
Husband: ok honestly i was thinking you would just say No
Husband: i'll check their menu if you wanna join
Me: oh thanks

Man, he is lucky that he's a cutie. Only a cutie can get away with fake-inviting a vegetarian to Buffalo Wild Wings.

Cardigan: H&M
Blouse: Ann Taylor Loft
Jeans: Martin + Osa
Wedges: Target

Daily Outfit - Kate - 11/1/10

How pale am I?

SO PALE THAT WHEN I LOOKED AT THIS PHOTO I THOUGHT "HMM I DON'T REMEMBER WEARING WHITE TIGHTS TODAY."

THAT'S HOW PALE.

Yeesh!

This picture cracks me up. I'm gazing majestically into the distance.

And by "gazing majestically into the distance" I mean "looking at a bug on the ceiling."

Same thing.

That scarf knot is one I learned from Une Femme d'un Certain Age's awesome tutorial post, btw. It rocks. Now I need more large square scarves! :-D

Dear Jen

You know what my most FAVORITE part of Halloween is?

Not the leftover candy.

Not watching Rocky Horror and drinking a Blue Moon.

Not even getting to see the neighborhood kidlets all dressed up (which is good, 'cause we only had a couple this year :-()

No, my favorite part of Halloween is daydreaming about costumes.

I always come up with these grand ideas which never come to fruition. And y'know what? That's OK. Just because it occurs to me, doesn't mean I have to do it.

Besides, it would be pretty lame to spend the evening sitting on my couch in a costume. (Because spending the evening sitting on my couch in normal clothes is lame enough, TYVM)

So instead I just content myself to come up with awesome ideas. And maybe tell Jeff, "How cool would THAT be?!" and then rinse and repeat. There's no investment, so what's the harm?

But I won't be sharing any of those awesome ideas. Because someday, we're going to have Hooplings. And we'll take them trick-or-treating. And then I'll have a perfectly legitimate reason to dress up. And eat candy.

In the meantime, now I've got several years to find an old belted housedress. And a glass-topped walking stick. And black knit pants. (those are all for different ideas, btw. ...or ARE they?!)

Long live Halloween!

<3
