What do these two outfits have in common?

and

That's right, they're two perfectly nice outfits, with photos ruined by laziness-induced flash photography, flyaway hairs, and an unexplained state of frumpiness on the part of the wearer.

I'm sorry, clothes. You deserve better.

And that is why daylight savings time can KISS MY ASS.

The Spoils: DSW (again)

Consider this a pushing of boundaries, a departure from the norm.

Just you wait and see.

(Backstory and explanation - and a challenge - available on KateOhKatie)

PS>I guess I'm supposed to disclaimer that after my last DSW post, I was contacted by a member of their marketing team and offered a gift card as a "Thank you for shopping with us and blogging about us" treat. So DSW paid for part of my new shoes. Which only makes me love them more.

The Spoils: DSW

I quit my job yesterday.

It wasn't a "SCREW YOU I'M OUTTA HERE" so much as a "I hope you understand...another opportunity...difficult decision... here's my two weeks' notice...". But still. Liberating and exciting but also sad and scary.

In times of trouble and strife, it is human nature to seek comfort in the familiar, to find guidance and strength through spiritual fulfillment.

So yesterday after work I hopped on my bike and headed to DSW.

What can I say? I'm a deeply spiritual being.

Nothing says "new beginning" like red peep-toe maryjanes, eh?

I'm not kidding when I say it wasn't an easy decision - I've poured a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into my current position. But sometimes circumstances are out of our control, and I've got to make the decision that is best for Jeff and me. This new opportunity will be really great, and I'm looking forward to a new environment and new responsibilities.

And hey - new shoes!

Now the only question is - should I wear these tomorrow, or save them for the first day at the new job?

Daily Outfit - Jen - 2/25/10

Sometimes I'll read blogs where the writers give these in depth analyses of why they wore what they wore, and I just think, "Eh?"

This is how I usually approach my outfits:

"Hmm. I've had this blouse for almost two years and have only worn it once. I think I'll wear it, today."

Of course, those bloggers are worlds better dressed than I am. At least my new flats and (not) new dog are awesome.
